Welcome to the first ever website of 1066 (Hitchin) Squadron – a very special Squadron within Herts & Bucks Wing, Air Training Corps.
The Air Cadet Organisation offers young people aged 13 – 20 an extremely wide range of activities including flying, gliding, sports, Duke of Edinburgh’s award, shooting, adventure training, camps, BTEC and various projects. In addition 1066 Squadron has its own marching band. Air Cadets across the world are achieving and taking part in such activities, many that they thought never possible.
1066 (Hitchin) Squadron will provide you with the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills that are both useful now and later in life. Skills that you will learn and develop as a cadet include teamwork, communication, leadership, self discipline and confidence. You will also make friends for life and gain useful qualifications.
1066 Squadron prides itself on its achievements to date and the way in which all members work as one big team to achieve its goals. The Squadron is lucky to have a large staff team who between them hold numerous qualifications to assist the Cadets of the Squadron.
